New: AVC Equipment Certification
The Audio Visual Center (WBF 109) has updated its checkout procedures to require students checking out Field Audio equipment and Location Lighting equipment to first complete a certification workshop offered by AVC staff. Certification will cover proper equipment use and handling as well as techniques for lighting and recording. The schedule for January’s workshops is provided below. A student’s certification will last for their entire time at CCS.
The AVC is doing this in response to student requests and concerns regarding the use of this particular equipment. Many students come to the AVC to check out sound or lighting equipment and ask for training or information regarding it, as they do not have prior experience. To help avoid hurried training sessions occurring at the desk when staff are busy handling numerous checkouts, we have designed certification workshops on Audio and Lighting equipment to address the most commonly asked questions and to meet the needs of the CCS community.
Students may sign up in the AVC for these workshops-space in each is limited, so sign up today-- and will receive a certificate of completion.
January Sessions:
Field Audio Certification Workshop: 11:30-12:30 January 12, 18, 21, 26
4:00-5:00: January 11, 19, 25
Location Lighting Certification Workshop: 11:30-12:30 January 11, 14, 19, 25, 28
4:00-5:00 January 12, 18, 26
Watch for the schedule of February sessions, coming soon!
